Job description

Make a Difference in a Child's Educational Journey Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to support children and young people in school settings across London and the South East. If you are passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in an educational environment, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking individuals who can provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs. • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. • Support students with learning, communication, behavioural, emotional, and social development needs. • Help create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment. • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers, and specialist professionals. • Encourage student independence, confidence, and participation in school activities. Essential Skills and Attributes Successful candidates will demonstrate: • Patience, empathy, and understanding. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people. • Flexibility and strong problem-solving abilities. • Understanding of child development and learning needs. • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications and Experience Entry-Level Qualifications The following qualifications are desirable: • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning. • Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning. SEN-Specific Training Additional training in any of the following areas is highly advantageous: • Autism Support • ADHD Awareness • Speech, Language and Communication Needs • Dyslexia Support • Positive Behaviour Support • Safeguarding Children • First Aid Experience We welcome applications from candidates who: • Have previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, or in a similar role. • Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in educational, healthcare, community, or care settings.
