SEN Teaching Assistant

A large secondary academy in Stratford is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, helping students with Special Educational Needs to achieve their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEND team, providing tailored support to students with a range of additional needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
• Support students in accessing lessons and completing classwork.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
• Support students with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience working with children or young people in a classroom.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people's development and wellbeing.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
