Senior Digital Content Writer Company: Reed Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience Location: Reed N900 - 900 Pavilion Dr, Northampton NN4 7RG Northampton with hybrid working two days per week Hybrid: Office based on Tuesdays and Thursdays and working from home on Monday, Wednesday and Friday Contract: Full Time 37.5 hours per week and permanent About the role If you are a brilliant writer bursting with ideas and your work genuinely shows creativity, this could be your next move. As a Senior Digital Content Writer, you will play a key role in our content marketing team, the hub of creativity and innovation. You will take ownership of crafting compelling content that not only performs strongly in search and AI visibility but also resonates, engages and inspires. This role offers a balance of analytical and creative work, combining performance focused content with wider editorial storytelling and campaign ideas. Key responsibilities • Support the Head of Content Marketing in maintaining high editorial standards with strong quality control across all outputs • Bring fresh ideas and creative thinking to the team to enhance storytelling • Ensure all content aligns with the Reed tone of voice • Plan and deliver a balanced mix of hub, hero and hygiene content aligned to business goals • Oversee content produced by other team members and provide mentoring support • Work closely with external agency partners to deliver high performing SEO, GEO and AEO content across search and digital PR • Carry out research into industries, trends and audience interests, alongside brand and competitor analysis • Support the planning and optimisation of the content calendar in line with business priorities • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders What we are looking for • Proven experience creating high performing content across a range of formats and channels for both B2B and B2C audiences • Strong understanding of SEO, including keyword optimisation and using data to drive content decisions • Excellent attention to detail with strong proofreading, editing and organisational skills • Confident communicator with experience collaborating and supporting others • Good understanding of content marketing principles and audience focused storytelling • Experience using CMS platforms and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently across competing priorities • Understanding of technical SEO and how it impacts content performance • Experience using AI tools to support content creation and efficiency • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field and experience delivering content strategies that drive visibility and growth
