Job description

Senior Lawyer • Hourly Rate: £55 • Location: Bolton • Job Type: Temporary, Full-time We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Lawyer specialising in children's law to provide high-quality advice and representation to the Council. This role involves working as part of a dedicated team, handling legal matters related to the safeguarding of children, including private and public Children Act proceedings, adoption, forced marriages, female genital mutilation, education law, and immigration. Day-to-day of the role: • Provide expert legal advice and representation in matters concerning the safeguarding of children. • Conduct legal proceedings related to private and public Children Act cases, adoption, and other related areas. • Work collaboratively with other team members to analyse issues and develop effective solutions to complex legal problems. • Present complex legal information in accessible formats to various stakeholders. • Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring all legal activities are completed within set deadlines. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in children's law, particularly in advising and conducting proceedings. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. • Excellent analytical skills to develop solutions to complex legal issues. • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly. • Confidence to work independently, with the judgement to seek support when necessary.
