Senior People Advisor Surrey based with travel Hybrid working 3 day office /2 days home £45,000pa plus benefits This role would particularly suit candidates based in Surrey, Hampshire, or those with an easy commute on the Waterloo to South West rail line. Looking for a role where you can genuinely make your mark? This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, privately owned organisation as a Senior People Advisor in what is very much a greenfield opportunity. If you're someone who enjoys creating structure, improving ways of working and driving positive change, this role offers the chance to have a real impact. Joining a friendly and supportive People team of four, you'll report directly to the People Operations Manager while working in close partnership with a dedicated People Business Partner to support your business area. It's a collaborative team that works hard, supports one another and enjoys having fun along the way. The Role: Reporting to the People Operations Manager, you'll provide proactive HR support across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on Employee Relations. Working closely alongside one of the People Business Partner, you'll support leaders across the business, providing practical HR guidance while helping to shape and improve people processes. Operating within a unionised environment, you'll manage a varied ER caseload while identifying opportunities to build consistency, drive efficiencies and enhance the overall People function. With few established processes currently in place, this is a genuine opportunity to influence how HR is delivered and leave your mark. Key Responsibilities: • Managing a varied and high-volume Employee Relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance issues. • Partnering with managers to provide practical, commercially focused HR advice. • Working closely with the aligned People Business Partner to deliver an exceptional people service. • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. • Supporting positive employee relations within a unionised environment. • Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, policies and ways of working. • Supporting wider People initiatives and projects as the function continues to evolve. • Ensuring employment legislation and HR best practice are applied consistently. About You: You'll be an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and thrives on making improvements. You'll bring: • Previous experience as a Senior HR Advisor or People Advisor. • Strong Employee Relations expertise and confidence managing complex cases independently. • Experience within a unionised environment (highly desirable). • A proactive mindset with a passion for driving efficiencies and continuous improvement. • Resilience, tenacity and a hands-on approach. • Excellent coaching and stakeholder management skills. • Strong employment law knowledge. • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
