Senior Project Engineer | Shirebrook | £60,000-£70,000 | Permanent The OpportunityThis role places the Senior Project Engineer at the centre of a major, business-defining rail project that will shape the organisation's next phase of growth. You'll take full ownership of engineering delivery across the entire lifecycle, acting as the key interface between design, production, and the customer to ensure solutions are robust, compliant, and delivered to specification. This is a highly visible, hands-on position where you'll solve real-time engineering challenges, support manufacturing teams, and influence how complex rail products are built, tested, and delivered. Senior Project Engineer Key Responsibilities • Engineering Delivery Leadership: Own engineering output across assigned projects or work packages, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant delivery. • Technical Coordination: Act as the central link between design, production, and customer engineering teams. • Lifecycle Ownership: Manage engineering activities from concept through build, test, validation, and final delivery. • Documentation & Compliance: Produce and review technical reports, risk assessments, and engineering documentation. • Problem Solving: Resolve engineering and production issues quickly and effectively to maintain project momentum. • Technical Governance: Ensure solutions meet regulatory, safety, and customer standards. • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate clearly with internal teams, suppliers, and customer representatives.
