Connect-Exec is recruiting on behalf of a specialist children’s residential service for experienced and resilient Senior Residential Support Workers and Residential Support Workers.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
The RoleYou will provide consistent, nurturing and person-centred support to young people within a residential setting, helping them feel safe, develop positive relationships and build the skills and confidence they need to progress.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting young people with EBD and complex/challenging behaviours.
• Building positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
• Supporting emotional regulation and helping young people manage challenging situations.
• Using appropriate behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Providing consistent, nurturing care within the residential home.
• Supporting young people with their daily routines, activities and personal development.
• Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
Senior Residential Support WorkerIn addition to providing direct support, Senior Residential Support Workers will be expected to:
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills and lead by example.
• Support and guide members of the staff team.
• Assist with the effective day-to-day running of the home.
• Promote high standards of care, safeguarding and professional practice.
• Confidently respond to challenging situations and support colleagues when required.
What We’re Looking ForWe are particularly interested in candidates who have:
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with EBD.
• Experience working within a children’s residential care setting.
• Confidence managing complex and challenging behaviours.
• Experience supporting emotional regulation and using de-escalation strategies.
• A resilient, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong safeguarding awareness.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a residential care team.
For Senior Residential Support Worker positions, previous senior or leadership experience within a relevant care setting is highly desirable.
