About The Role: Ready to step into a role where every day starts with purpose and ends with impact? We’re looking for a driven, hands-on Senior Warehouse Operative to lead our logistics team and keep our delivery and installation operations running like clockwork. You’ll make sure every run is prepped to perfection, support our drivers throughout, and jump in on the ground when needed in our self-loading depot. You’ll also take the lead on vehicle compliance, ensuring our fleet stays safe, legal, and ready to roll. If you're an experienced Team Leader looking for that next big challenge in a fast-paced, growing business — this is your moment. • Salary: £28,308.80 per annum • Hours: 5 on 3 off, 5 on 2 off (40 hours per week) • Start and finish time: 4am-1pm and 1pm- 10pm • Job Type: Full time and permanent contract • Location: 1 Junction Cut Road, Alexandra Docks, Newport, NP20 2RZ Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing: • Complete in-house reports for the Depot Manager daily • Check that all vehicles leaving the depot are secure and meet required transport legislation requirements • Supervise and motivate a team both employed and self-employed drivers and ensure they are complying with the training that they have received • Complete alcohol testing when required • Communicate with our Drivers, handling any queries efficiently and in a professional manner • Transport Debriefing duties of vehicles returning from delivery and installation runs • Provide hands on support and take responsibility for managing the transhipping and reloads A Few Things About You: • Understand transport legislation and logistics operation • Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure • Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with our Drivers • Able to make decisions in the absence of the Depot Manager to drive performance and service • React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently • Good communication skills both verbally and written • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel Our Benefits: • 31 days holiday • 5% contribution pension scheme • Healthcare Cashback Scheme • Exclusive Staff Discount • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Packages • Expression of wish service • Make a difference days (x2 fully paid charity days a year) • Share-save Scheme To see all our benefits and perks, visit our AO Benefits page.
