Service and Commissioning Engineer

Service & Commissioning Engineer Salary: £40,000–£55,000 + Overtime Location: Waterbeach | UK & Overseas Travel Hours: 40-hour week with flexible structure A leading designer and builder of bespoke machinery and automated equipment for high-tech and regulated sectors is seeking a Service & Commissioning Engineer. You’ll support commissioning of special-purpose machinery, deliver on-site and remote customer support, and play a key role in ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes. The Role • Commission new machinery on client sites in the UK and overseas • Carry out planned maintenance and servicing • Provide remote diagnostics and troubleshooting support • Manage customer assistance requests through the ticketing system • Support installation, setup and post-delivery activities • Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams and client stakeholders What You’ll Need • Strong experience working with mechanical and electrical industrial machinery • HND/HNC/C&G in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience) • Background in automation, product handling or special-purpose machinery • PLC fault-finding skills (Omron/Beckhoff highly desirable) • Ability to make minor HMI modifications (Visual Studio experience beneficial) • Competence configuring drives and motors • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills • Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently • Full UK driving licence and eligibility for international travel What’s on Offer • £40,000–£55,000 salary depending on experience • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service) • Generous pension scheme (matched 5.5%) • Life assurance & critical illness cover • Employee Benefit Trust participation • EAP, Cycle to Work scheme, flu vouchers If you are interested in the role of Service and Commissioning Engineer and feel that you have the relevant experience, please contact your Recruitment Partner, Lisa Logan at Unicorn Resourcing.
