Job description

Service Supervisor - Forklift Truck Service An exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Supervisor with a strong background in forklift truck maintenance and workshop leadership. You will supervise a team of service engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient, safe and high-quality delivery of maintenance, repairs and inspections across a fleet of industrial fork lift trucks. Key responsibilities - Lead and motivate the workshop/mobile service team, ensuring daily work is allocated to meet SLA and turnaround targets. - Supervise and carry out diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance on a range of forklift trucks (electric, LPG, diesel, counterbalance, reach trucks, etc.) - Ensure full compliance with health & safety, LOLER manufacturer maintenance schedules and documentation - Monitor team performance, carry out 1-2-1's / appraisals, identify any training needs and any tooling / equipment needs - Manage spare parts ordering, stock control and cost monitoring to optimise workshop efficiency - Liaise with customers and operations to prioritise work, report on job status and ensure high levels of customer service - Maintain accurate job records, QC checks and service reports; assist with continuous improvement initiatives and KPI reporting Skills and experience required - Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a service workshop or field service environment - Strong knowledge of workshop processes, safety standards and statutory inspection requirements - Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple jobs and deadlines - Excellent communication skills for managing technicians, customers and suppliers - IT literate with experience using job management systems and electronic job cards
