Job description
To provide initial CAMHS assessments drawing on professional training and experience and clinical skills as well as appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of evidence based sources including the use of routine outcome measures, rating scales, and semi-structured interviews with clients / families.
To formulate and recommend plans for the formal clinical treatment and/or management of emotional and behavioural difficulties of clients, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of these problems employing methods based upon evidence of proven efficacy within modality and with reference to appropriate clinical guidelines and care pathways (e.g. NICE, CEG).
Ensure routine outcome measures are completed and include family members where appropriate
To assess and make recommendations about treatment options to the MDT, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical, environmental and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by standard care plans.
General:
To maintain and promulgate the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures.
To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group and mental health.
To support the development, maintenance and dissemination of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.
To ensure all mandated and statutory training, professional registration / revalidation, supervision recording, appraisal and development standards are maintained as required within CNWL and the CAMHS ED Service Line.
To adhere to Trust and local policies regarding annual leave, sickness and absence, and codes of conduct within the workplace to maintain a safe, effective and courteous professional environment.
