Job description

As the Stock Controller you will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring all warehouse material aligns precisely with system inventory. This includes arranging daily stock checks, conducting investigations, and managing the day to day operation of the cycle count programme. The Stock controller also provides support to the Production Controller as required, contributing to the successful delivery of the daily operational plan. Benefits for the Stock Controller • Salary of £30,000 per annum • Office-based role, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm • 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 28 days with service • Pension scheme – 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution (increasing with service up to 8%) • Flexitime available • Free onsite car parking • Life assurance and income protection after 3 months • Employee Assistance Programme • 24-hour GP service • Employee discount portal Duties for the Stock Controller • Maintaining stock accuracy and conducting detailed stock analysis • Managing daily stock checks, including requests from multiple departments • Proactively communicating with Sales regarding stock discrepancies or issues as they arise • Supporting external auditors during annual stock audits • Liaising closely with the warehouse team to resolve stock related queries • Providing administrative support to the Production Team Candidate Competencies of the Stock Controller • Previous experience working within a stock control or inventory role • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) • Knowledge of manufacturing environments would be advantageous • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments If you are an experienced Stock Controller looking for your next opportunity and would like to join an established business in Southampton, please apply today.
