The opportunityOur client is an established and growing painting and decorating business delivering high-quality finishes across prestigious residential properties and commercial spaces.
We are recruiting an experienced Working Supervisor who can lead from the front. This is a hands-on position combining professional painting and decorating with responsibility for supervising projects, supporting the site team and maintaining excellent client relationships.
You will work alongside a small team of decorators while ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently and to an exceptional standard. The role requires a calm, professional approach, particularly when working in occupied homes and other client-facing environments.
Key responsibilities
• Work alongside the team on high-spec painting and decorating projects
• Supervise the day-to-day activities of up to five decorators
• Allocate work and provide practical guidance to team members
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard
• Act as the principal on-site contact for clients, colleagues and suppliers
• Coordinate schedules, materials and daily workloads
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful working environment
• Promote sustainable practices and the responsible use of materials
• Ensure all work meets relevant health and safety requirements
About youYou will be an experienced painter and decorator who takes pride in producing an excellent finish and is comfortable leading others.
To be considered, you should have:
• Strong professional painting and decorating experience
• Experience working on high-end residential and/or commercial projects
• Previous supervisory, foreperson or team-leading experience
• The ability to remain hands-on while managing a small team
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Confident, professional communication skills
• The ability to work respectfully in occupied residential properties
• Strong organisational and on-site problem-solving skills
• A valid CSCS card
• A valid SMSTS qualification
• The ability to complete the required DBS checks
