Support Worker

Where you’ll be working: Elizabeth Court - Dorchester This is a 16 bed supported living service in the centre of Dorchester close to all local amenities and transport links, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health and complex needs. Offering supporting living, encouraging and enabling people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and accessing the local community & facilities. As part of your day to day work you will be offering the following; Encouraging – people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence. Supporting – Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting. Communicating - effectively communicate using people’s chosen methods Engaging - promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life Specialising - supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches Recording - keeping accurate records &reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management Team player – Working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
