Residential Care Worker (RCW) • Location: St Austell, Cornwall • Job Type: Full-time • Salary: Starting £26, 597 rising to £31,869 Progress to senior via x 2 yearly panel progression salary can rise to between £31,870 and 39,159 Join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care and support to children and young people with disabilities, particularly those with learning disabilities and autism. This role is crucial in enhancing the lives of the children by supporting their daily needs and personal development. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Assist in the smooth operation of the home, including taking part in required operational routines and activities. • Provide direct care, support, and supervision to the children and young people, ensuring their individual needs are met as defined within their agreed care planning documents. • Engage in planning and participating in activities that support children to enjoy and achieve, contributing to their growth and development. • Undertake household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and the preparation of healthy and balanced meals. • Administer medication in accordance with the home’s policies and maintain secure storage. • Act as a positive role model for the children, treating them with care, respect, and dignity at all times. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to support individual care plans. • Participate in training and development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Experience in providing care to individuals with learning disabilities and autism is highly desirable. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. • No specific educational qualifications required if candidates have substantial experience working in similar settings.
