Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time - 36.25 hours per week
About the OpportunityWe are working with a highly respected independent accountancy and business advisory firm to recruit an experienced Tax Director.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional to lead and develop a successful tax function, providing strategic advice to a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key role in the firm's continued growth. You'll work closely with Partners, clients and the wider leadership team, helping to shape the future direction of the tax offering.
The RoleAs Tax Director, you will provide strategic leadership across the firm's tax services, ensuring exceptional client delivery while developing both the team and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
• Leading the firm's tax function and driving its continued growth and success.
• Managing a varied portfolio of private and corporate tax clients, providing strategic tax planning and advisory services.
• Delivering expert advice on complex tax matters, including business restructuring, succession planning, corporate transactions, inheritance tax and capital gains tax.
• Building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, acting as a senior adviser on tax matters.
• Leading, mentoring and developing Tax Managers, Seniors and junior team members.
• Working alongside Partners and the wider leadership team to develop the firm's long-term tax strategy.
• Supporting business development by identifying new opportunities and strengthening relationships with professional introducers, including solicitors, banks, financial advisers and other referral partners.
• Representing the firm at networking events and within the local business community.
• Ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance and the highest standards of client service across the tax department.
About YouWe're looking for an experienced tax leader with a strong background in UK accountancy practice.
Ideally, you will have:
• CTA, ACA, ACCA or ATT qualification (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience within a senior tax leadership position.
• Strong technical knowledge across personal and corporate taxation.
• A proven track record of delivering high-quality tax advisory services.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing successful tax teams.
• Excellent commercial awareness and business development skills.
• Outstanding communication and relationship management abilities.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional client service and building long-term client partnerships.
