Tax Manager – Accountancy Practice Location: Newton Abbot (Office-Based) Salary: Competitive & DOE Hours: Full-time Level: QBE / ATT / CTA / Experienced Senior ready to step up OverviewA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Manager to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Newton Abbot. Due to ongoing expansion within the tax department, the firm is seeking a confident and proactive tax professional to manage a varied client portfolio and work closely with senior leadership. This is a fully office-based, client-facing role offering variety, progression, and the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive team environment. Key Responsibilities • Manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients • Lead on corporation tax compliance, reviews, and advisory work • Provide high-quality tax advice across a range of sectors and business sizes • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear and proactive guidance • Support Partners with complex queries, planning, and strategic tax matters • Review work prepared by junior members of the team and offer mentorship • Ensure all filings, submissions, and HMRC correspondence are completed accurately and on time • Identify tax-saving opportunities and suggest added-value services • Support in developing and strengthening the firm’s tax offering About You • Strong experience in corporate tax is essential • Background in an accountancy practice or specialist tax firm • Excellent communicator, comfortable in a client-facing role • High attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and ability to problem-solve • Able to work closely with Partners and senior stakeholders • Qualified CTA / ATT / QBE – or a highly experienced Senior ready for progression What’s on Offer • Competitive salary (DOE) • Opportunity to work closely with an experienced Partner • A broad and engaging client portfolio • Supportive, friendly office environment • Genuine long-term progression opportunities within the firm If this sounds like the kind of opportunity you’d be interested in, please get in touch - I’d be happy to share more details.
