Teaching Assistant Autism/SEN Barking & Dagenham September 2026 Are you a confident, reliable teaching assistant looking for a new school to call home from September? Do you have the skills and knowledge to support primary aged students with Autism? If so, we would love to hear from you! SANZA Teaching Agency are currently recruiting on behalf of a lively primary school in Barking & Dagenham. They are seeking skilled, calm and compassionate teaching assistants to join their team. As a teaching assistant, you will work across key stage 1 and key stage 2, supporting key pupils with additional needs. The role will be full-time (term- time only) from September 2026 to July 2027. As a teaching assistant, you will: • Provide tailored support to key students with Autism, ensuring they can access the learning material. • Enforce learning routines. • Promote independence, ensuring students learn to take responsibility for their learning journey. • Support sensory needs through various channels. • Support emotional regulation and the development of healthy interpersonal relationships. • Work in collaboration with class teachers and the SEN team. About you: • Previous experience as a teaching assistant, ideally within a primary setting. • A solid understanding of Autism and sensory needs. • Strong behaviour management skills. • Be confident, proactive and able to use initiative . • Have a strong ability to connect with children, colleagues and parents, and build strong relationships.
