Job description

Teaching AssistantAn ambitious and supportive secondary school in Hounslow is looking to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated inclusion team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a thriving secondary school that is committed to helping every student succeed, both academically and personally. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored classroom support, encouraging students to develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning. The successful candidate will primarily support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). You will provide a mixture of classroom assistance, one-to-one support, and small group interventions, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs. Candidates who have previous experience supporting SEN students, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, or communication difficulties, and who are confident working with secondary-aged pupils, may be offered an enhanced daily rate. Responsibilities • Provide classroom support to help students remain engaged and make progress in lessons. • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual learning needs. • Support students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and MLD. • Work closely with teachers to adapt learning activities and prepare classroom resources. • Encourage a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where every student can succeed. Requirements • Experience working with children or young people is preferred. • Previous experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs is beneficial. • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students. • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
