Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - LeedsSeptember 2026 Start Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant Contract: Long-Term / Ongoing Salary: Competitive Daily Rate Agency: Prospero Teaching Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Leeds from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills who is looking to make a positive impact on students' academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development. The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting engagement in lessons, and helping students overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will be confident working with students who may display challenging behaviour and will have the ability to build strong, professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations. Responsibilities • Supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons. • Providing one-to-one and small-group support. • Implementing behaviour management strategies consistently. • Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and achievement. • Supporting students with additional learning and behavioural needs. • Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour. • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate • Has previous experience working with young people in a school, college, youth work, sports coaching, or mentoring setting. • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills. • Is calm, resilient, and able to remain professional in challenging situations. • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Is passionate about supporting young people to succeed. • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
