Team Manager - First Contact & Adult Safeguarding • Role: Adult Social Care Team Manager • Service: First Contact & Safeguarding (Adult Social Care Front Door) • Location: Leicester City Council (Hybrid - 2 days office-based per week) • Pay Rate: £42.00 per hour • Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing Interim Contract Leicester City Council is seeking an agile, highly supportive Team Manager to lead their First Contact & Adult Safeguarding Team. As the primary "front door" for adult social care across the city, this dynamic service operates at the crucial intersection of initial access, rapid triage, and urgent crisis intervention. Core ResponsibilitiesAs Team Manager, your leadership will center on triage, risk management, and service quality: • Front-Door Triage Leadership: Provide decisive management oversight for incoming adult social care referrals, initial assessments, and immediate safeguarding alerts. • Risk & Crisis Intervention: Drive swift, rationale-backed decision-making when dealing with high-risk scenarios where information is limited or unverified. • Team Supervision & Oversight: Offer regular, reflective supervision to a team of social workers, assessment officers, and intake practitioners, managing performance and workflow effectively. • Hybrid Operations: Lead a modern, flexible workforce, seamlessly managing office-based collaboration alongside remote working practices. Mandatory Candidate Criteria • Professional Registration: Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a valid, active Social Work England (SWE) registration. • Front-Door / Intake Experience: Substantive prior experience working within a "front door" Adult Social Care environment (e.g., First Contact, Access & Triage, or MASH/Safeguarding Intake). • Crisis Decision-Making: Demonstrated capability to evaluate risk quickly and execute effective crisis interventions when minimal information is available. • Working Pattern: Ability to commit to the required 2 days per week office presence in Leicester.
