Technical Architect

A leading global insurance organisation, is seeking an experienced Technical Architect with strong IBM i / AS400 (iSeries) expertise to join their Application Solutions team.This role will play a key part in a high-profile programme to migrate a large estate of business-critical IBM i applications between data centres. Key Responsibilities • Lead the technical architecture and design of IBM i / AS400 application migration initiatives. • Define migration and transition strategies for business-critical applications moving between data centres. • Assess application dependencies, integrations, interfaces, and infrastructure requirements. • Produce solution designs, architecture documentation, and migration roadmaps. • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure successful delivery. • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the migration lifecycle. • Support wider application modernisation and transformation initiatives. • Provide technical leadership and architecture governance across the programme. Experience Required • Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Application Architect. • Strong background within AS400 / iSeries environments. • Experience delivering data centre, hosting, or large-scale application migration programmes. • Strong understanding of complex application landscapes and business-critical systems. • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. • Experience within the insurance sector (desirable) • Knowledge of the Genius insurance platform (desirable) Details • Location: London • Hybrid: 3 days / week • Duration: Initial 3 months • Rate: Inside IR35 Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
