About the Role:We are currently recruiting an experienced telehandler driver to provide holiday cover on a busy new build housing development in Hamilton.
This is a great short-term contract role for a skilled operator looking to pick up extra hours, keep busy, and work alongside an established housebuilder. You will be responsible for operating the machine safely and efficiently to keep the site moving while the permanent driver is away.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operating a telescopic handler safely and efficiently across a busy housing site.
• Unloading delivery vehicles and distributing materials (bricks, blocks, roof trusses, timber) to various plots.
• Assisting sub-contractors and trades with necessary material lifts.
• Carrying out daily plant pre-checks, maintenance logs, and ensuring the machine is kept clean and secure.
• Working closely with the Site Manager to ensure smooth daily site operations.
• Assisting with general site work or stepping off the machine when required to keep the site organised and safe.
Role Requirements:
• Valid CPCS or NPORS Card with Telescopic Handler category (Essential).
• Extensive experience operating a Telehandler on new build housing sites.
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, and steel toe cap boots).
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent awareness of site health and safety procedures, especially around pedestrian safety on housing plots.
• Strong communication skills, punctuality, and a proactive work ethic.
• Based in or easily commutable to Hamilton.
• Full UK driving licence.
