Job description

Temporary Housing OfficerLocation: B43 6NN Pay Rate:£17.30 per hour + Holiday Pay (HP) Contract: Temporary About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary Housing Officer to join a busy housing service based in B43 6NN. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in housing management, tenancy sustainment, homelessness, or supported housing who can hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities • Manage a caseload of tenants, providing person-centred housing management and tenancy support. • Carry out tenancy sign-ups, reviews, sustainment visits, and property inspections. • Support residents to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. • Complete needs, support, and risk assessments, ensuring support plans are regularly reviewed. • Manage rent accounts, address arrears, and promote income maximisation. • Respond to anti-social behaviour (ASB) incidents and tenancy breaches in line with policy. • Liaise with local authorities, social services, health professionals, and external agencies to coordinate support. • Safeguard vulnerable adults and children, escalating concerns where appropriate. • Maintain accurate case notes and ensure all records are updated on internal systems. • Support residents with referrals to relevant services, including benefits, employment, health, and wellbeing services. Requirements • Previous experience working as a Housing Officer, Tenancy Sustainment Officer, Supported Housing Officer, Housing Support Worker, Floating Support Worker, Homelessness Officer, or similar housing-related role. • Experience managing a caseload within housing, homelessness, or supported accommodation services. • Strong knowledge of tenancy management, safeguarding, risk assessment, and support planning. • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload. • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) may be required.
