Job description

Title Lawyer / Conveyancer • Location: Woking • Job Type: Full or Part-time (flexible hours considered) • Working Pattern: Office-based initially (With potential remote options discussed) A well-established property law practice in Woking is seeking an experienced Title Lawyer / Conveyancer to join the firm on an in-house basis. This role is focused solely on technical title work and provides specialist support to the wider conveyancing team. It is an ideal opportunity for an experienced or semi-retired conveyancer who enjoys technical problem-solving and detail-driven work without the pressures of fee-earning. Day-to-day of the role: • Review and analyse residential property titles, including registered and unregistered land. • Identify and resolve complex title issues, defects, and anomalies. • Provide clear technical advice and guidance to fee earners and partners. • Support transactions by advising on easements, covenants, rights of way, restrictions, and leasehold matters. • Ensure title work complies with current property law, Land Registry requirements, and best practice. • Assist with high-risk or complex files as required. • Work collaboratively with the conveyancing team while maintaining a largely autonomous workload. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Significant experience as a Conveyancer, Title Lawyer, or Property Solicitor. • Strong technical expertise in residential conveyancing and title matters. • Confidence working independently and making sound technical decisions. • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. • Desirable: Experience dealing with complex or legacy title issues, background in supporting or mentoring fee earners on technical matters, prior in-house or support-focused role experience.
