Job description

Our client, a well-established international logistics and freight forwarding organisation, is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Coordinator to join their Key Accounts team based at Heathrow. This is an excellent opportunity for a customs or trade compliance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities • Support the movement of goods across international borders while ensuring customs compliance. • Classify products using the correct tariff and commodity codes. • Provide guidance on UK import requirements for goods arriving from the EU. • Support the Head of Trade Compliance and wider operational teams. • Audit customs entries to ensure compliance with UK import and export legislation. • Prepare customs documentation and declarations for import and export shipments. • Liaise with HMRC regarding customs procedures and compliance matters. • Maintain CITES records, including uploading import and re-export certificates. • Produce KPI reports and management information within agreed deadlines. • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation. • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency. • Carry out regular compliance checks and provide reports to management. Key Skills • Previous experience in Customs, Trade Compliance or Freight Forwarding. • Strong knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations. • Good understanding of commodity codes, tariffs, customs valuation, Incoterms and rules of origin. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. • The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player. Monday to Friday working hours (8:30am – 5:30pm)
