Transport Planner - Swindon, Wiltshire
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our well-established client based in Swindon, Wiltshire.

This role would suit candidates who have previously worked as a Transport Coordinator, Logistics Planner or Transport Administrator and have a strong understanding of transport compliance and fleet operations.
Shift Pattern:
• Monday to Friday
• 11:00 - 20:00

Day-to-Day Duties:
As a Transport Planner, your duties will include:
• Planning and coordinating daily vehicle movements and driver schedules across the UK
• Ensuring fleet utilisation is efficient, cost-effective, and meets operational requirements
• Monitoring driver hours, tachograph compliance, and transport KPIs
• Maintaining accurate transport records, servicing schedules, and compliance documentation
• Supporting route optimisation to improve efficiency and service levels
• Assisting with fleet maintenance planning, MOT scheduling, and defect reporting
• Liaising with drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day transport operations
Essential Skills:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Previous experience in a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator, or similar logistics position
• Strong understanding of drivers' hours regulations, tachograph requirements, and transport compliance
• Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS)
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience:
• Knowledge of Operator Licence (O-Licence) compliance
• Previous experience within a 3PL or multi-customer transport operation
• Experience supporting fleet maintenance and compliance processes
