Stores Operative – Automotive Manufacturing Dagenham, East London £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (DOE) Full-time | Perm | Rotating Shifts A leading automotive manufacturer based in Dagenham is seeking a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced industrial environment, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful probation period. The Role As a Stores Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring materials and goods are handled efficiently, accurately, and safely. Key Responsibilities • Receiving and checking incoming deliveries • Booking goods onto internal and customer systems (full training provided) • Storing and managing stock effectively • Picking orders to requisition • Preparing outbound shipments • Delivering goods across the plant • Handling COSHH-controlled products • Supervising receipt of bulk deliveries (e.g. road tankers up to 30,000L) • Operating Counterbalance, Reach trucks, and tow trucks • Interacting with internal teams and customers on site • Providing a high level of customer service at all times About You Essential Skills & Attributes • Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial/automotive environment • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately • Basic IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Excel, data entry) • Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach • Basic mental arithmetic skills • Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Committed to health & safety standards Desirable (Not Essential) • Previous warehouse or stores experience (or transferable skills) • FLT licences (Counterbalance B1 / Reach D1 / Tow Trucks) • Experience with stock control systems • Customer-facing experience • Full UK driving licence Note: FLT training/refresher courses can be provided for the right candidate. Working Hours & Shifts • 37.5 hours per week • Monday to Friday Rotating Shift Pattern (8-hour shifts): • Early: 06:30 – 14:30 • Late: 14:30 – 22:30 • Night: 22:30 – 06:30 Typical rotation (subject to business needs): • Week 1: Early • Week 2: Late • Week 3: Early • Week 4: Late • Week 5: Nights Contract Details • Successful candidates will be offered a permanent contract with Rubix following probation • Immediate start available
