Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join a busy shipping and logistics operation. This is a hands-on role, responsible for supervising the day-to-day warehouse activities, coordinating freight movements, overseeing container loading, and ensuring all cargo is handled safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and Operations team, you will lead a warehouse team, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise the daily warehouse operation, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. • Lead and support warehouse staff, providing guidance and maintaining high performance standards. • Check incoming and outgoing freight against shipping documentation. • Ensure cargo is inspected, measured, weighed, labelled, and prepared for export. • Coordinate LCL freight consolidation and ensure cargo is correctly segregated. • Supervise container loading, ensuring safe loading practices and maximum container utilisation. • Carry out final checks before containers are sealed and dispatched. • Maintain accurate warehouse records and update warehouse management systems. • Investigate freight discrepancies, damages, and operational issues. • Ensure high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and compliance are maintained. • Liaise with customers and drivers during freight deliveries and collections. Requirements • Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Senior Warehouse Operative, or Team Leader within a logistics, freight forwarding, or warehouse environment. • Experience supervising warehouse teams in a fast-paced operation. • Good understanding of freight handling, LCL consolidation, and container loading. • Knowledge of export freight and shipping procedures is advantageous. • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work under pressure. • Forklift license preferred Benefits • Competitive salary (DOE) • Company pension • Holiday entitlement • Ongoing training and development • Career progression opportunities within a growing logistics business
