Job description

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our client on an immediate basis. This is a hands on role requiring a proactive individual who can help clear a backlog while maintaining the day to day finance function. The successful candidate must be available to start immediately and work from the office. The role can be offered on either a 4 day or 5 day per week basis, depending on the successful candidate's preference. Key Responsibilities • Managing and reducing a backlog of finance transactions • Raising and processing sales invoices • Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments • Managing the accounts receivable process, including receipt allocation and reconciliations • Bank reconciliations • Assisting with month end processes and reporting • Posting and reviewing journals • Preparing and assisting with VAT returns • Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc accounting duties • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and financial controls Candidate Requirements • Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role • Strong working knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger and general bookkeeping procedures • Experience with month end processes, journals and VAT • Good understanding of accounting principles • Excellent IT skills, including strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and data analysis) • Experience using Xero • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workload • Able to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively Essential • Immediate availability • Ability to work from the office full time • Previous experience using Xero and Excel If you are immediately available and interested in this opportunity, please apply for the role or contact Kellie Rainbow at Reed's High Wycombe office for further information.
