Job description

An experienced Accounts Payable Assistant is sought by an established business services group based in Victoria, Central London. The Accounts Payable Assistant will be responsible for supporting the finance department by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. The role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively within deadlines. Prospective candidates must know basic accounting principles coupled with VAT. Key Responsibilities: • Manage the Accounts inbox by submitting invoices for approval • Match statements, approval emails, and invoices before processing • Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly. Prepare and process payment runs • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies • Maintain up-to-date and accurate accounts payable records • Assist with month-end closing activities • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date • Respond to vendor enquiries and maintain positive supplier relationships • Assist with expense claim processing and reconciliation Qualifications & Skills: • First-rate experience in accounts payable • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including VAT • Good organisational and time-management skills • Strong communication skills Benefits: • Hybrid working, two days WFH • 25 days holiday • Private healthcare • Excellent pension • Working in a small, professional, friendly, and supportive team
