Administration Officer
Location: Braintree, Essex
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (6-month contract)
Salary: £12.75 per hour PAYE / £16.33 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 37 hours per week
Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for two Administration Officers on behalf of our client based in Braintree, Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and professional organisation, providing essential administrative support within a customer-focused environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing applications, updating customer records, handling confidential information, and responding to enquiries through telephone, email, and face-to-face communication.
Working within a structured and supportive team, you will play a key role in ensuring information is processed accurately, records are maintained correctly, and customers receive a high level of service.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, methodical, and have excellent attention to detail. You will have strong administration skills, confidence using IT systems, and the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining accuracy. This role would suit someone with previous administration or customer service experience who is looking for a new opportunity within a professional environment.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site in Braintree, 5 days per week during the initial training period, followed by hybrid working once a successful training period has been completed.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to obtain a DBS check.
Main Purpose of the Role
To complete detailed reviews of customer applications, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and processed in line with relevant procedures. The role will involve updating records using internal systems, reviewing supporting information, and providing support to customers regarding enquiries generated through the review process.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Carry out detailed reviews of existing customer applications in line with company procedures.
• Update customer records using internal systems to reflect any changes identified.
• Review and verify customer information, including income and household details.
• Use relevant systems to access and update information accurately.
• Ensure reviews are completed thoroughly, prioritising higher-risk and complex cases where required.
• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face communication.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure information is accurate and compliant.
• Provide general administrative support to the wider team.
Additional Responsibilities
• Handle confidential information professionally and maintain high levels of discretion.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with GDPR and data protection requirements.
• Support the smooth running of administrative processes.
• Liaise with internal teams and customers to resolve queries effectively.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail across all tasks.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Previous administration experience within a busy office environment.
• Strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft Excel and internal systems.
• Experience providing excellent customer service.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive information.
• Knowledge of GDPR principles would be advantageous.
Working Pattern & Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
