Job description

To provide a high-quality, efficient and confidential referral management service to clinicians and patients within the practice. The Administrator is responsible for processing referrals accurately and promptly, ensuring patient are referred appropriately to secondary care, community services, diagnostic services and other healthcare providers in accordance with practice procedures and NHS guidelines. To be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of clinical information within the Practice's electronic patient record system (SystmOne). The post holder will review and code patient correspondence, hospital letters, diagnostic results and other clinical documentation using appropriate clinical coding standards to ensure patient records are complete, accurate and support safe patient care, QOF requirements, enhanced services and contractual reporting. The Clinical Coder will work closely with clinicians and the administrative team to maintain high standards of data quality, confidentiality and information governance, contributing to the effective management of patient care and Practice performance.
