Job Opportunity: Pupil Support Worker Location: Beckfoot Thornton (via The Supply Register) Contract: Long-term and Short Term supply (likely temp-to-perm) | Term time only Start Date: September 2026 Beckfoot Thornton is seeking a committed and caring Pupil Support Worker to join the team from April 2026 on a long-term or short-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the wellbeing, behaviour, and learning of pupils—particularly vulnerable learners—within a welcoming and inclusive school community. Key Responsibilities: • Support pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour, and attitude to learning. • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals. • Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with school life. • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive values in pupils. • Track and monitor behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns. • Make welfare calls and support strategies to improve attendance and punctuality. • Assist with lesson planning, pastoral care, and behaviour management. • Organise and support extracurricular and enrichment activities. • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider school environment. What We're Looking For: • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education. • Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN. • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. • Excellent communication skills and a supportive, proactive approach. • A team player with resilience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people thrive.
