School Caretaker / Premises Assistant Location: Kensington, London Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Ongoing Hours: 7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Start Date: Immediate Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience School Caretaker / Premises Assistant Required ASAP A prestigious independent school in Kensington is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on School Caretaker / Premises Assistant to join their site team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy school environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is happy to support across a variety of premises and facilities duties. The successful candidate will work full-time throughout the summer holidays, helping prepare the school for the new academic year, and will continue into the new school term. Key Responsibilities • Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of the school premises. • Moving and setting up furniture, classrooms, and equipment across the school site. • Supporting summer maintenance, classroom moves, and site preparation projects. • Carrying out basic repairs and general maintenance tasks. • Conducting routine health and safety checks. • Assisting with deliveries and stock movement. • Ensuring communal areas, classrooms, and facilities remain safe, clean, and operational. • Providing general support to the Site Manager and wider school team as required. About You We are looking for someone who is: • Friendly, approachable, and easy to work with. • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties. • Agile and capable of working across a five-storey school building, including frequent movement between floors and furniture relocation. • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required. • Proactive with a positive, can-do attitude. • Experienced in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar role (preferred but not essential).
