Job description

Chartered Town Planner Location: Near Preston, Lancashire. Hybrid, mix of home and office Type: Permanent, full time Salary: circa £50,000, dependent on experience An established and growing chartered surveyors and planning consultancy near Preston is looking to appoint a Chartered Town Planner to join and help drive its planning team. The practice acts for a broad client base, from private individuals to national companies, and has built a strong reputation across the Northwest for the quality of its advice. This is a role with real autonomy and a varied caseload, in a firm known as a friendly, supportive place with a genuine focus on work life balance and developing its people. The role • Manage your own caseload of planning applications from submission through to determination • Advise clients on development potential, planning risk and strategy • Prepare and oversee planning statements, appeals and supporting documents • Lead on site appraisals and represent clients with local planning authorities • Support and mentor junior members of the planning team What we're looking for • MRTPI chartered, with an RTPI accredited degree or master's • A track record in private consultancy, taking applications through to determination • Confident managing your own caseload and dealing directly with clients • Strong written, analytical and communication skills, and good commercial judgement • A full driving licence What's on offer • Circa £50,000, dependent on experience • A competitive benefits package • A varied caseload and genuine autonomy • Hybrid working and a manageable workload • Clear progression in a growing practice that invests in its people
