Job description

Our client, a Greater Manchester council is seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join their Fostering- Kinship Team. Fantastic payrate of £35 per hour! Responsibilities of this role: • Undertake comprehensive kinship assessments (Connected Persons/Special Guardianship) in line with statutory guidance and fostering regulations • Support and assess extended family members to provide safe, stable placements for children who cannot live with their parents • Complete viability assessments and full fostering assessments, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based reports for panel and court • Work collaboratively with children, families, and professionals to promote positive outcomes and permanency planning • Provide ongoing support and supervision to approved kinship carers, offering guidance around safeguarding, child development, and placement stability • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, looked after reviews, fostering panels, and court proceedings as required • Ensure all cases are managed in line with statutory requirements, local procedures, and timescales • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards • Identify and manage risk effectively, ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of children remains paramount • Contribute to placement matching, support plans, and long-term permanency arrangements Requirements of this role: • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England. • Must have minimum of 3 year's experience working as a Qualified social worker Benefits of working through Reed, include: • Dedicated Recruitment Consultant. • Aftercare service delivered by Candidate Care Team. • Free CV building and Interview support. • Free DBS checks. • Weekly payroll. • PAYE payroll option with additional benefits including holiday pay, healthcare, pension plus more. • CPD contributions. • Access to full UK jobs market with top tier status across many public and private sector clients. • Supporting the Reed Foundation which has given £9.5m to charity since 2010.
