The OpportunityAn employee-owned building control and regulatory compliance consultancy is seeking a Class 3H Registered Building Inspector to join their growing team in East London. The business works with several major companies across the UK and has secured long-term contracts covering a broad range of complex and higher-risk projects.
The Class 3H Registered Building Inspector will provide expert technical guidance, assess regulatory compliance and support projects through the building control process. The RoleAs Class 3H Registered Building Inspector, responsibilities will include:
• Managing building control applications for complex and higher-risk buildings.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, fire strategies and structural information.
• Assessing projects against the Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
• Undertaking inspections during design and construction.
• Preparing detailed technical reports and compliance records.
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and specialist consultants.
• Identifying non-compliance and providing practical technical solutions.
• Supporting applications involving the Building Safety Regulator.
• Mentoring less experienced inspectors and supporting technical development.
Required ExperienceThe successful Class 3H Registered Building Inspector should have:
• Current registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 3H.
• Significant experience working on higher-risk or technically complex buildings.
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
• A relevant qualification in building control, building surveying, construction or a related discipline.
• Membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB or another recognised professional body.
• Strong communication, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
