Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the existing Valley Outpatient antibiotic therapy (OPAT) and Respiratory Physiology Team. You will need to demonstrate your commitment to providing excellent communication and attention to detail, to enhance the experience of those patients linked to our services. As a valued member of the team, we need you to be motivated, reliable and enthusiastic as process and systems can rapidly change. This is a front facing role which may be the first contact for patients, therefore exceptional customer facing and communication skills are essential to deliver confidence and reassurance for our patients. This is a support role within a rapidly developing service, and the successful candidates will be responsible for aspects of health record administration, data collection, infection and control monitoring and appointments. You contribution will improve the patient experience, enhance the delivery of person-centred care and provide accuracy of data collection to allow service development and excellent patient care. You will have a positive and professional attitude and have confident IT literacy skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, require to be demonstrated, as they are key competencies which link with the values of the service and the organisation. Applicants should be able to adapt to unpredictable workloads and be flexible to fit the needs of the service. There is a requirement to complete the health care worker Induction programme and specific aspects of TURAS as required by the service. Knowledge of internal IT systems eg: TRAK and order comms would be advantageous and desirable but are not essential as training will be given. Previous experience in health care setting would be advantageous, but individuals with a keen interest and potential, are welcomed. The post is permanent and is offered on a part time basis over 5 days, which may be compressed to 4 days on discussion with service. As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
