Commercial Property Surveyor
Permanent | Part-Time (3–4 Days Per Week) | Hybrid Working Available
Grade 8 - £37,280 to £40,777 per annum (£18,640 to £20,388 pro rata)
A Staffordshire based local authority is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Property Surveyor to join its property team and play a key role in managing and enhancing the Council's commercial portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a property professional looking for a flexible, part-time position within local government, managing a diverse range of industrial and retail assets while contributing to the Council's wider asset management objectives.
The RoleAs Commercial Property Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the effective management of the Council's commercial property portfolio, ensuring assets are well managed, income is maximised, and opportunities for value creation are identified.
Key responsibilities will include:
Commercial Property Portfolio Management
• Managing a portfolio of commercial properties, including industrial and retail assets
• Supporting income generation and asset value optimisation
• Handling landlord and tenant matters, lease management, and property negotiations
Property & Asset Management
• Monitoring asset performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Undertaking property inspections and ensuring assets are appropriately managed
• Supporting the delivery of the Council's wider property and asset management strategy
Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation
• Building strong relationships with tenants, agents, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Providing professional property advice and guidance
• Leading or supporting negotiations across a range of property matters
General Surveying Duties
• Managing a varied caseload of property-related work
• Preparing reports and maintaining accurate property records
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and Council policies
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience within commercial property surveying
• Experience managing commercial property portfolios, ideally including industrial and retail assets
• Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant matters and property management principles
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities
• A highly organised and self-motivated approach to work
