Customs Freight Test Analyst

Our client has an exciting new position available for a Customs & Freight Test Analyst with a strong background in customs declarations and/or freight forwarding to join the Quality Assurance team. This is a unique opportunity for someone with industry-specific knowledge who is looking to transition into or grow within the field of software quality assurance. This person must be an enthusiastic, self-starting problem solver with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who is both a good fit for our team and is approachable. The role – Customs & Freight Test Analyst Our client is a leading provider of customs clearance software and services in the UK. We help freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics companies streamline import and export processes by ensuring smooth integration with HMRC systems and facilitating efficient, compliant trade operations. The product that is actively being developed, is a mature application (client/server) which started life in mid 2000’s and has been deployed to live customers since 2011. Alongside this flagship product, we are building a new web-based front-end (greenfield development). This is an exciting time for us, and the successful applicant will be working with cutting edge technologies on both projects. Employment Terms – Customs & Freight Test Analyst Why Join Us? • Be part of a collaborative and supportive team. • Receive tailored training in QA methodologies and Agile practices. • Make a real impact on systems critical to logistics and trade. • Benefits – 25 days holidays (increasing to 30) plus bank holidays, company pension, private healthcare, employee discount scheme and group life assurance. • £35-42k DOE/Neg • Mon-Friday 9-5.30 (flex 7.5hr working day) • Hybrid Working; Set ‘ WFH’ Mon & Fri Required experience – Customs & Freight Test Analyst The candidate should have the following experience: • In-depth knowledge of UK customs declarations and/or freight forwarding. • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). • Have a great personality; you will be expected to work closely with the team, continuously learn, and actively share knowledge with others. • Have a keen eye for detail and good problem analysis. • You must also be enthusiastic and be willing to accept new challenges. Nice to have’s Candidates with the following will have an advantage: • Previous experience in a QA or testing role. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies or experience working in a Scrum team. • Be familiar with Windows, Windows applications and Microsoft Office products. • ISTQB/ISEB Certified Tester or Qualifications or equivalent. • Experience with Azure DevOps. • Experience with differing test environments / VM’s / SQL/ API testing tools. • CI/CD • Testing web front ends.
