Design & Technology Technician - Secondary School - Tunbridge Wells September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term / Permanent Opportunity Are you passionate about Design & Technology and looking for an opportunity to support a thriving secondary school department? We are currently recruiting for a Design & Technology Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in the Tunbridge Wells area, starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical skills, a keen interest in DT, and a desire to support students and teaching staff within a creative learning environment. The Role: • Supporting the Design & Technology department with the preparation of materials, equipment, and resources for lessons • Ensuring classrooms, workshops, and practical areas are safe, organised, and ready for student use • Assisting teachers with practical demonstrations and project preparation • Maintaining tools, machinery, and workshop areas to a high standard • Supporting students during practical lessons where required • Managing stock, ordering materials, and ensuring resources are available for lessons The Ideal Candidate: • Experience working within a DT, engineering, workshop, or practical environment (school experience is desirable but not essential) • Confident using a range of tools, equipment, and materials • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail • A proactive and reliable approach with the ability to work independently • Someone who enjoys supporting young people and contributing to a positive school environment This role would suit a DT Technician, Workshop Technician, Graduate, ex-student of Design & Technology, or someone with relevant practical industry experience looking to move into education.
