Marks Consulting Partners are currently recruiting for an Estates Surveyor to work with one of our charity sector clients, in a remote role with regular travel across London and the South East.
This is a permanent role paying up to £53k per annum, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What you will be doing:
• Managing a designated portfolio of properties, delivering repairs and maintenance as required
• Acting as a property expert for colleagues across the estate, providing high levels of service and support
• Overseeing property works in alignment with retail and operations managers, within agreed SLAs
• Assessing property issues and taking appropriate action
• Maintaining accurate records across estate and FM databases and cloud based systems
• Providing advice on retail and commercial lease acquisitions and disposals
• Liaising with agents, landlords, neighbouring occupiers, solicitors and local authorities
• Procuring and managing contractors, ensuring they are vetted and all work meets health and safety legislation
What you will need:
• Level 6 or higher professional surveying qualification (desirable, but not essential)
• Current membership of a professional institution such as RICS, RIBA, CIBSE, CIOB or IWFM (desirable, but not essential)
• Post qualification experience of surveying in a property or facilities management environment
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Working knowledge of retail and commercial leases, acquisitions and disposals
• Multi-site property management and compliance experience
• Experience managing small building or maintenance projects up to £500k, including financial controls as EA or CA and contractor management
• Ability to work within a small team and externally with professionals and third parties
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
