Job description

Executive Assistant Day Rate: Up to £200 per day (Inside IR35) Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid - 2 to 4 days per week onsite) Contract: 6 Months + Likely Extension Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance An exciting opportunity has arisen to support senior leadership within a major UK public sector organisation undergoing large scale digital transformation. This role offers the opportunity to provide executive support to a Director General, helping coordinate priorities, manage complex schedules and ensure the smooth running of a busy Private Office environment. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation while contributing to programmes that have a national impact. Responsibilities for the Executive Assistant: • Provide high quality executive support to the Director General, managing a complex and fast moving diary. • Prioritise, manage and respond to emails, ensuring actions are completed efficiently and confidentially. • Coordinate meetings, preparing agendas, documentation and briefing materials. • Organise meeting logistics, attendance, visit planning and stakeholder coordination. • Manage domestic travel arrangements and accommodation bookings. • Build strong working relationships across multiple teams and senior stakeholders. • Monitor competing priorities and proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts. • Support the delivery of senior leadership priorities by coordinating activity across multiple departments. • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. • Provide wider administrative support across the Private Office as required. Essential Skills for the Executive Assistant: • Previous experience providing Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or senior administrative support. • Experience managing complex diaries and changing priorities within a fast paced environment. • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to build effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion. • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. • Ability to work independently while managing multiple competing priorities. Desirable Skills for the Executive Assistant: • Previous experience working within the Civil Service or wider Public Sector. • Experience supporting Directors, Director Generals or other senior executives. • Experience working within ministerial or Private Office environments.
