Finance Manager
Location: Haydock
Permanent - Monday - Friday (37.5 hours) - Hybrid working options
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depends on experience) + BenefitsAdele Carr Recruitment working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business based in Haydock. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of the finance function, working closely with senior leadership in a varied and hands-on role.
The RoleReporting to the Group Finance Controller, you'll be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information, managing month-end reporting, supporting business decision-making and driving continuous improvements across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis.
• Lead the year-end audit process and coordinate statutory reporting requirements.
• Take responsibility for all balance sheet reconciliations and trial balance integrity.
• Maintain the nominal ledger, including journals and month-end adjustments.
• Support and oversee the Accounts Assistant, ensuring the smooth running of the sales and purchase ledgers.
• Manage cash flow, invoice finance facilities, import loans and banking relationships.
• Attend operational meetings, providing financial insight to support purchasing and business decisions.
• Oversee credit control and debtor management.
• Prepare payroll information for the external payroll provider.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations across the Group.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Identify and implement finance process improvements, including supporting future systems development and accounting software migration.
About You
• ACCA/ CIMA part or fully qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Previous experience within a Finance Manager or similar senior finance level.
• Experience managing a finance operation, producing management accounts independently.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, month-end and year-end processes.
• Manufacturing and stock accounting experience would be highly desirable.
• Experience using Sage 50 or Sage 200 would be advantageous.
• Excellent Excel skills with strong analytical ability.
• Highly organised with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
