Job description

High-Impact & Highly Visible Financial Controller Role Location: Cardiff | Hybrid (3 days office) Exclusive with Robert Half Permanent Contract | ASAP Start Robert Half is exclusively partnering with a high-growth, purpose-led infrastructure organisation to appoint a Financial Controller. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of its growth journey, playing a key role in supporting large-scale investment, strategic decision-making and long-term expansion plans. Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders, the Financial Controller will take ownership of all financial reporting, controls, compliance and commercial finance activities whilst leading a finance team. Key Responsibilities • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Board, investors and project teams. • Deliver insightful financial analysis, reporting and commentary to support strategic decision-making. • Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, regulatory and investment partnership obligations. • Own the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, budget variance analysis and performance reporting. • Oversee VAT returns, supplier payments and financial controls. • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process. • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls. • Develop and maintain finance policies and procedures. • Partner with the Group CFO and wider finance team on growth initiatives, M&A activity and capital raising projects. • Prepare financial submissions required under industry regulatory frameworks. About You • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified accountant • Experience in Construction, Energy, Infrastructure or Project environments • Strong technical accounting background • Excellent financial modelling and forecasting skills • Commercially minded with the ability to influence decision making • Strong leadership and people management experience This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious finance leader seeking a highly visible role within an organisation making significant long-term investments in the region.
