Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Location: Eastbourne, Hailsham, East Sussex Hours: Monday-Friday - 7:30am-5:00pm summer / 7:30am-4:00pm winter Salary: £30K per annum Job Type: Full Time HRGO Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our clients team. This role is essential for ensuring that the public spaces are well-maintained, safe, and presented to a high standard for the community to enjoy. The successful candidate will play a vital role in carrying out essential ground's maintenance work across our client's sites. General Duties: • Lead, support, and motivate 1-2 grounds maintenance operatives on site. • Carry out and oversee a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks, including: • Grass cutting (ride-on and pedestrian mowers) • Strimming, hedge cutting, and shrub bed maintenance • Line marking, weed spraying, leaf clearing, and litter picking • Plan and allocate daily tasks, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. • Ensure parks, open spaces, and recreational areas are clean, tidy, and well maintained. • Communicate with clients on site when required and provide excellent customer service. • Inspect and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment, promoting safe working practices and reporting any faults. • Work with other teams to complete maintenance projects and site improvements. Requirements: • Previous experience leading or supervising a grounds maintenance team. • Full UK driving licence • Skilled in the safe operation of a range of grounds maintenance equipment. • Good knowledge of grounds maintenance practices. • PA1 & PA6 certificates and horticultural qualifications are advantageous. • Ability to carry out physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
