Interim Democratic Services Manager / LGR Specialist – Up to Full Time – Hybrid Working – Initial 3 Month Contract – Up to £500 per day (Potential to be Outside IR35) Venn Group's specialist legal team are currently recruiting for an Interim Democratic Services Manager / LGR Specialist to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Democratic Services professional with Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) experience to support the Authority through a significant period of change within a politically complex environment. The Role: Duration: Initial 3 months with likely extension Working Pattern: Up to Full Time (Part Time considered), Hybrid working with office attendance preferably 1 time a week Rate: Up to £500 per day, dependent on experience – potential to be Outside IR35 Start: ASAP Role Responsibilities: • Managing and supporting the Democratic Services function through a period of Local Government Reorganisation • Providing hands-on leadership and operational support within Democratic Services • Advising on governance arrangements and Democratic Services matters relating to LGR • Managing proportionality arrangements and supporting a politically complex administration • Ensuring effective governance and committee administration processes are maintained • Supporting members and senior officers on Democratic Services and governance matters Candidate Requirements: • Proven Democratic Services management experience within Local Government • Previous experience supporting or delivering Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programmes is highly desirable • Ideally a legal background or significant experience working closely with Legal Services on governance matters • Strong understanding of committee procedures, constitutional governance and decision-making frameworks • Experience supporting politically complex administrations and proportionality arrangements • Ability to lead, manage and mentor Democratic Services staff For further information, or to apply for this position, please contact Philippa Stoate or Ebby Vallance on , or via email at .
