Job description

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Lead CNC Operator on behalf of our client based in Haverhill on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to take ownership of all CNC machining operations within a busy woodworking manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, operating and maintaining CNC machinery whilst supporting production, training operators and driving continuous improvement across the department. Roles & Responsibilities • Program, set and operate a range of woodworking CNC machinery • Operate 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis and nesting CNC machines • Optimise CNC programs to maximise production efficiency and material utilisation • Oversee the day-to-day running of all CNC machinery within the business • Diagnose and resolve machine, tooling and programming issues • Liaise with machine manufacturers regarding technical support, software updates, servicing and breakdowns • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules • Ensure all CNC machinery is maintained to a high operational standard • Train, mentor and support CNC Operators • Establish best practices for machine setup, programming and operation • Work closely with the Design and Production teams to achieve production targets • Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications • Support continuous improvement projects across the manufacturing department • Ensure Health & Safety and quality procedures are followed at all times Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications • Extensive experience programming, setting and operating woodworking CNC machinery • Strong experience with 5-axis CNC machines and nesting CNC machinery • Ability to troubleshoot CNC machine, tooling and software issues • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining optimisation • Experience supervising CNC operations or leading a production team Desirable • Experience using SolidWorks • Experience using SWOOD software • Previous experience within furniture, joinery, cabinet manufacturing or woodworking • Experience training and developing CNC Operators Working Hours & Pay • Monday to Friday • Full-time, permanent position • £17.50 - £19.00 per hour (depending on experience) Market 36 Recruitment Ltd cover a range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Engineering, HR & Finance & ITAD.
