Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer

We are supporting our client with a cloud engineering and automation programme and are seeking an experienced Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer. This role will focus on enhancing cloud visibility, inventory management, monitoring capabilities and automation across complex multi-cloud environments. • Role: Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer • Day rate: £400 – 450 per day (inside IR35) • Pay framework: Umbrella Company • Location: Glasgow office - Hybrid - 4 days a week in the office, 1 day WFH • Duration: 6 months initially (with potential extension) • Contract Start Date: Immediate Key Responsibilities • Design, implement and maintain logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions across cloud platforms. • Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes. • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. • Develop scripts and tooling using Python and Shell scripting. • Support cloud engineering activities across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Drive improvements in cloud observability, monitoring and operational reporting. • Manage and optimise containerised workloads where required. • Work closely with engineering and platform teams to improve cloud governance and operational controls. • Support cloud asset discovery, inventory management and configuration management initiatives. Essential Skills/Experience • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). • Proven experience delivering logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions within cloud environments. • Strong Python development and automation skills. • Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. • Strong Shell scripting capabilities. • Demonstrated experience driving automation initiatives. • Experience working with Kubernetes and/or containerisation technologies.
